The Surbiton Watchmaker
Number 2
Hand built at our Surrey studio, the Series 2 is a perfect blend of modern precision with multiple mid-century design cues.
A handmade sterling silver dial is the star attraction, complimented by the handmade carbon steel hands and beautifully proportioned stainless steel case. Each watch is powered by the venerable Sellita SW300-1, and is presented with an artisanal leather strap.
The Dial
The Dial
Made by hand at our Surrey studio, each dial starts out as a sheet of 925 sterling silver. The Dial is cut out and a 'frosted' texture is applied. The silver is then oxidised to achieve the graphite black colour. The numerals and markings are then engraved through the oxidation to uncover the bright white silver underneath.
The Hands
The Hands
Each pair of hands are crafted from a sheet of CS95 Carbon Steel. Each hand is cut, drilled, broached, hardened, tempered, filed and polished by hand. The process is exceptionally labour intensive, but the result is a piece that is entirely unique, and made specifically to fit your watch.
